Oceanspect is a firm based in Recife, Brazil, working in the fields of insurance surveying and consultation in maritime, land, air and railroad cargo transportation. The company was founded in 1979 and its partners and consultants have large experience and tradition in the maritime, insurance and surveying fields, with a solid background in the law which rules their area of activity, which gives OCEANSPECT a unique quality: the surveyors aim to reduce and protect their clients’ liabilities, not only “report” on the assessment of damage.

Oceanspect's head office is located in Recife, State of Pernambuco. Thanks to this central position in relation to the long Brazilian coastline, we are in a position to quickly move a surveyor, expert or lawyer closest to the casualty site to anywhere in Northern, Northeastern, Southeastern or Southern Brazil, including the complex Amazon region, our specialty.

We have local correspondents based at strategic points of the Brazilian territory, which guarantees the attendance of a given casualty within minutes or only a few hours after the request for services.

Oceanspect has a team of surveyors, claims adjusters, naval architect, maritime and insurance lawyers all over Brazil with wide experience in the attendance of judicial surveys, joint customs surveys as well as joint private surveys, of maritime cargo, road and air cargoes. We are particularly expert in the attendance of Customs surveys, with excellent records of results in favour of our clients. Our surveyors have legal 'background' because our team includes maritime lawyers, as well as experts in difficult photography with excellent technical quality for use as legal evidence in administrative or litigation proceedings. OCEANSPECT is also well experienced in attending surveys used as evidence in proceedings at the Brazilian Maritime Court in Rio de Janeiro.
